Review of Getaway (2013) by Eric D — 01 Dec 2013

I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. I don't like how people on the other review websites criticize these movies so bad. It's just a simple mindless action movie that gets your heart pounding.

The general user rating on imdb gave this movie a 4.1/10. That's ridiculous, for me being into these kind of movies I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes it is mindless action with a horrible plot to it. Guys wife gets kidnapped, guy gets revenge.

Also there's a lot of useless car crashes in the film but that's also what I liked about it. The actors on the other hand....let's just say this wasn't their best roles. Ethan Hawke didn't really do anything wrong, I just think he under acted a little bit but other than that he did a great job.

Selena Gomez.....well again she could've done better, she over acted a bit too much. Every time the car drifted it seemed like she couldn't control herself and what words came out of her mouth.

Hon Voight, boy he really knew how to get you to not like him and at the end of the movie you actually seem him for a second and then he's gone and the movie ends, that kind of irritated me but hey it was a low budget film.

Anyway, the movie does have it's flaws but in the end it's a good action movie that I could watch more than twice. Highly recommended.
