Review of Getaway (2013) by Hawk _ — 19 Nov 2014
Selena Gomez's first "grown up" role. Getaway suffers because essentially the movie has been done before and better by Eagle Eye. Getaway tries to differentiate itself by having a more "human" element: more attention is paid to the bodycount that Hawke and Gomez are forced to rack up, and the villains feel more grounded in reality.
Still for all it does change, you've seen this movie before and done better. It still can be fun, although the movie perhaps goes on a half hour too long. Still as Homer Simpson said "Why eat hamburger when you can have steak": you could probably easily pick up Eagle Eye for cheaper than you can get this and you'd be all the better for it.
