Review of Get the Gringo (2012) by Daniel P — 13 Nov 2014
Get the Gringo is one of those movies people most likely saw on Netflix starring a washed up actor and passed over it. That is a big mistake if you are looking for an entertaining 90 minutes with an intriguing story.
The premise was simple and to the point. There was no backstory, not much character development and none of it was needed to craft this great film. Mel Gibson is out for a bit of revenge and on the side helps out a boy and his mother, all inside a Mexican prison (if Mexico prisons are really like this, wow they have it easy).
The plot is fast paced and there are plenty of tense moments and some very fun shootouts. If you don't like Gibson, put that aside for a bit and check this movie out because it is well worth anyones time.
