Review of Get Smart (2008) by E L — 28 Jul 2012
The movie version is rather different, which, considering that the tv series was really a string of bad puns, canned laughter and recycled jokes, is probably a good thing. Carell's comedic style lends a sense of self-awareness to the bumbling, accident-prone Maxwell Smart, which the original lacked, and other than a few precious little moments, many of the classic catchcries don't make an appearance.
A likable enough film.
