Elmore Leonard's one of the best writers, period, and adaptations of his work have to try really hard to keep up with him. Luckily, this one does. A razor-sharp satire of Hollywood. Enjoys a little bit higher reputation than it deserves, I think.
But it exudes so much "coolness" that you won't really think much about that.
