Review of Get Shorty (1995) by Adam L — 27 Jul 2008
One of my all time favourites. I have yet to be overly disappointed by an Elmore Leonard novel turned movie (I even tolerate Be Cool but that's another review). This is a tie with Out of Sight for the best though.
Hackman is fantastic as the producer who just doesn't get it. Farina is excellent too. And the scene with Travolta tossing Gandolfini down the stairs screams "cool." Great performances throughout, a great story and excellent wit.
Highly recommended.
