Review of Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005) by Bart & — 28 Oct 2010

A very under-rated movie. It's not great, but is definately well made. The real genius is the way Jim Sheriden doesn't try to get the sympathy of the audience. Some would say this is done to a fault as it's hard for people who aren't fans of 50 to really care about him.

But it's just being honest which is refreshing in a rags to riches story. 50 Cent does a very good job of playing himself. The biggest flaw is in the plot. It starts out with a scene that it comes back to in the movie, which never does anything but create redudency.

In general the plot feels slightly redundent at times and could've been better constructed, but it doesn't ruin the movie.
