The film "Get Out" tells a story too often ignored, the life of blacks in a racially divided America.

Get Out" holds no bars and delves into the racially divided America that I experience in my own life as an African American in today's through its specific metaphors and symbols to demonstrate the satirical take on an overtly racial phenomenon. The film violently awakes the audience to the threats around the main character through its use of "hidden symbols" such as when Chris tries to capture a photograph of Logan using the flash on his cellphone. The use of a cellphone was an obvious nod to the importance of documenting cases of police brutality in America. Another instance of "hidden symbols" is in the scene when Chris is strapped to the chair and is "literally" forced to pick cotton from the arms of the chair. The overarching theme of the film is systematic racism and the power it holds in the lives of the characters as displayed through satire. The director Jordan Peele pushes the envelope with his use of hidden symbols to keep the audience crouching in their seats throughout the entire film. I recommend that everyone who is able to go see the film to do just that because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the darkness of racism shown in the light. An overall stunning display of cinematography in today's society that is not only thrilling but, leaves each viewer with a lesson learned.
