Review of Get Out (2017) by David I — 04 Mar 2018
Director Jordan Peele goes after the liberal elite in this obviously satire film that isn't even scary and didn't scare audiences, but it isn't even a documentary for that matter. As you know, Get Out was put in the comedy category at the Golden Globes. However, Jordan Peele insists it is a documentary. But it is a comedy, like I said, and it is sure to win many awards in the comedy category. In the film, the 'help' of the liberal elite are to serve a purpose that is both funny and quite entertaining. The obvious silly insinuations are full of laughs suitable for the whole family, and jokes for every culture, religion, creed and socio-economic background to enjoy. The entire theatre will burst into unrestrained and spontaneous laughter at the comedic elements strewn forth for the audience's delight.
But if it were a comedy it should have won the category! In all seriousness, 5 out of 5 stars for an outstanding film. The best I have seen in a long time. This will be the gold standard for black horror films, it perhaps has invented a new genre.
