"Get Out" is not only a strong debut for writer/director/comedian extraordinaire Jordan Peele, it's as much a scathingly satirical glance at the dangers of eugenicist thought as it is at racist thought.

It's a study in how long a filmmaker can effectively hold an audience within the gray area between "awkwardness" and "fear." And it's also an effective, star-making showcase of the up-and-coming talent at the center of this film - Mr.

Daniel Kaluuya himself. Indeed, the upward-trending drum of modern horror beats on with this film, yet another win for the genre and Blumhouse Productions in particular.
