Review of Get Out (2017) by Andre V — 28 Jan 2018
If it tries to be a metaphor about situation of Afro-Americans, it lacks of sublety. From the cinematical point of view, it is a B series horror movie in which you see too clearly the steps to the dark room.
I have a feeling that, in the Trump era, Hollywood is reacting so much than any movie about racial issue can have space for the awards: for me, this is a good example. However, the fact that Afro-Americans feel in the need to do this movie indicates how much they think we live in a society that hunts people of their race.
And I would say they are not far from truth.
