Review of Get Out (2017) by Julie G — 30 Dec 2017
Black boyfriend goes to meet his white girlfriends parents at their lakehouse. Despite his fears that there might be issues with them the girlfriend reassures him that they are not racist. This film is good with some unsettling scenes that will make you go oooh and some cringeworthy scenes of white folkes trying to put him at ease however there is more to them than meets the eye.
Keener is excellent against type and the girlfriend is believable as the loyal devoted partner. This film raises many talking points which some conspiracy theorists will enjoy. Not too sure about the humour created by the paranoid best friend I found his character to be stereotypical .
...overall an enjoyable watch.
