Review of Get Out (2017) by Anuj & A — 30 Apr 2017
Jordan Peele shocks audiences with an introspective horror/comedy that proves writing is more important than gore!
A shockingly good time, "Get Out" delivers thrills, laughs, and horror as it not only takes viewers on a ride with our protagonist Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya) who, along with Allison Williams and the rest of the supporting cast who do fantastic jobs of keeping the story tight and the tension high. But where this movie excels is in Peele's ability to take his story and force and personal discussion about the social issues he is critiquing through his characters.
More than just its social commentary, this movie is so excellently written and can provide many major studios with the kind of detail oriented outlines for the scripts they so desperately need. Especially for the horror genre.
Watch it. Own it. An excellent modern horror film.
