Review of Get Out (2017) by David V — 27 May 2017
While certainly entertaining, the film quickly becomes so overtly didactic in white-shaming, that it is distracting. For me, the fourth wall didn't exist during this film, I was too busy being made to feel guilty for something over which I have no control.
It sucks to be stereotyped. I think we can all agree on that. But when I pay $10 to see a show, a comedy/horror no less, then I expect it to be funny and thrilling without a side of guilt.
