If you wanted to preach a message of courage, determination, and hope to a classification of people generally considered socially inferior by the dominant culture, how would you do it? One possibility is to create a biography of a male from that group who managed to transcend abject poverty and create his life on his own terms.

This spiritual 'medicine' must be hidden inside the usual bells and whistles of popular entertainment to draw the largest possible audience. Nevertheless, the energy of God, gracefully placed before each of us, is neutral.

It is not a respecter of persons. It is ours to use, abuse, or ignore as we see fit. Opportunities come to each of us like doors opening for a moment. Only our fears prevent us from boldly walking thru.
