Review of Get On Up (2014) by Ian R — 31 Jan 2017
Decent, but I felt it never really did a great job in telling you why Brown was so amazing and important and focused more on all the nasty stuff he did, in that it was so willing to show you all his warts that it skipped over some of his most important work.
The lead was at times stunning and other times almost like a parody. It was too distracting in its jumping around from time periods and breaking the fourth wall moments. Stick to the music and just groove instead.
