Review of Get on the Bus (1996) by Diana M — 23 Nov 2008
I watched it again last night, and it's yet another Spike Lee classic. 99.5% of the cast has been featured in other Spike Lee joints which makes it an all star cast of some the best Black male actors.
If you get the opportunity please see this film. For those Black men who did get the chance to go and experience the history that was the Million Man March in Washington, this film will surely take you back there.
And for those that didn't get the chance, it will let you know what you know what you missed out on and give you the privilege to somehow still feel connected to it. As a Black women, I managed to relate and understand all the lessons and knowledge saturated in this film.
Oh yes, Ossie Davis, hands down stole the spotlight in this film purposely but well-deservingly as well. :o) R.I.P Mr. Davis.
