This movie was building to be great and then came the anti-climax. Duvall is brilliant and his character is fascinating. Great beginning, great middle but then the ending meant the film justs fizzled to a stop.
Its unfortunate because it had all the ingredients to be great. I understand that the director is trying to show that what people imagine a person to be because of gossip and buried truths can be totally wrong and maybe the director stayed true to the original folk tale but dare I say he should have sexed it up a bit! Worth a watch for Duvalls brilliant performance.
