Review of Get Low (2010) by Chandra C — 20 Oct 2011
"A True Tall Tale" is the subtitle for this film. There was nothing tall about it, in fact I was rather underwhelmed with where the story left us.
It was a beautifully shot film with wonderful performances that wrap us in a old blanket that is well loved. Perhaps that feeling is enough for some. For me, it came up lacking at the end.
I don't quite understand the need of Felix to ask the entire town for forgiveness, unless it was to justify his reputation as a cranky hermit, although it did make for some really rich cinematography.
