"Blah blah blah Robert Duvall blah great performance blah blah so did Bill Murray.".
All of the reviews for this film said the exact same thing, and it's for a good reason.
Robert Duvall, as a hermit that lives in the woods alone with his secret, is heartbreaking. Bill Murray, as his fast-talking, morally questionable counterpart is hilarious. The two actors together make for a refreshingly unassuming movie. You only notice the slow pacing long afterwards, and by then you don't mind even a little.
These characters are too fascinating for one to be bothered with backwoods drama conventions, or worry about the fact that there are only two or three guns fired in the entire film.
