Essentially just a buddy/road flick. Pretty funny at times, but like "I Love You Man" and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", the comedy is undermined by a sappy, mopey message/moral like an Afterschool Special.
The sappy ending pretty much ruins all the comedy that came before it, just like the "I Love You Man" and "...Sarah Marshall".
