Review of Get Him to the Greek (2010) by Raymond M — 27 Jun 2011
A strong 4/5 stars from me for this movie. Let me start of by saying that this in my opinion is quite possibly one of the most underrated comedies in the last few years. Is it as funny as the Hangover or Forgetting Sarah Marshall? No not quite but it's still pretty hilarious. At first I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this movie because i've never been a huge fan of Russell Brand but he was hilarious in this movie and as usual so was Jonah Hill. But for me the breakout performance defintley came from P.Diddy as the music producer Sergio he cracked me up in every scene he was in. The music was surprisngly not to awful but I defintley wouldn't bother buying Russell Brand's album or the soundtrack. I also enjoyed the setting in the film alot like in Las Vegas, Califonia, Europe extc. As far as the other performances go I really enjoyed the cameos from Colm Meaney and Dinah Stabb as Aldous (Russell Brand) parents. Rose Byrne was also really hot and funny as Aldous ex. Elizabeth Moss did fine as we'll.
I did have two flaws with the movie though. Towards the middle and last act it does drag a bit so that brought the second half of the movie down just a little bit. My second flaw was I thought some of the dialgoue felted a little force and almost cringe-worthy as I thought some of the scenes were a little unnecessary but overrall I still really enjoyed the movie and had a great time. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel with Jonah and Russell's characters again I thought they had great chemistry.
