Review of Get Him to the Greek (2010) by Brendan N — 20 Jul 2012
Get Him to the Greek could have been one of the better spin offs, but the film buckles under a simple pot that fails to engage the actors. Brand is excellent and is the soul of the film, but Hill is quite underwhelming in the lead.
The biggest issue is the script, it fails to capture true comedy and relies more on created humour. This had the chance to be a great film, the concept was simplistic and offered endless possibiliies.
The talent is left hanging and they can only do some much with the script and sadly this is another sequel/spin off that misses the mark. The film has fun and often showcases what could have been without such a cliche riddled script.
