Classic british gangster film. caine is great as carter, honest yet unforgiving will give you a smile before stabbing you in the stomach.

Its a raw look at the 1970s era with no polish or overkill just genuine grittyness. the story is a little slow to start up but its all part of building up the plot to keep you guessing on who the killer was. overall I really enjoyed this film and still stands strong against the british films in the same genre of the last couple of years. defianately worth a look with a good ending to.
