Review of Gerry (2002) by Vincent L — 06 Sep 2007
The first in Gus Van Sant's death trilogy, it makes a nice change to the fast paced erratic faux realism of over done hand held shooting we see so much of today. This is a still, improvised piece which tells a greater story than it's words.
Beautifully performed and exquisitely shot, it manages to contrast from comedy to sheer fear and horror in a realistically split second.
