Review of Geronimo: An American Legend (1993) by Evan B — 18 Feb 2008
Very different kind of Western - not "Dead Man" different, mind you - that incorporates several different well-developed characters and how they all tie in to the violent landscape formed by the ravages of conflict.
It doesn't rush to blame, or guilt the viewer, which earns my respect. It was good to see Jason Patric in something decent for a change, back when his acting career seemed bright, and Robert Duvall plays an impossibly tough and aged Army scout willing to accept the fact that he kills Indians for a living.
The title character is played by good old Wes Studi, doing what he does best: looking angry, speaking defunct Native American languages, and killing Caucasians.
