Review of Gerald's Game (2017) by Jim L — 18 Jan 2018
Gerald's Game is one of the better films of Stephen King adaptations and definitely has his name written all over the project. It's scary, suspenseful, it will keep you wanting to watch what happens next. "Gerald's Game" is pure psychological dread from start to finish. Even when the movie gets somewhat slow in its middle passages, there is tension constantly in the air. This is more of a psychological thriller than horror but that's what I liked about it. It still has a creepy feel and has some moments that are sure to make you squirm. It is a compelling movie not for the faint of heart but it is a movie that is an engaging thrill ride. Carla Gugino does a great job carrying the movie with her gripping performance. It's worth checking out if you're a fan of unconventional thrillers.
