Review of Gerald's Game (2017) by Michaelobe — 17 Oct 2017
Maybe someone will find this screen adaptation interesting, but it's definitely not me. "Gerald's Game" is Stephen King's novel, a psychological story about incest, taboo, love and loveless and, of course, fear.
But director Mike Flanagan has very DIRECT style of the storytelling. All attempts to scare confined to the dreams of the main character (Carla Gugino), and the final naturalism makes me more disappointing in the movie.
Was it necessary to complete the line with Moonlight Man? It seems like exposing all the secrets of the movie. Book's better.
