If you like the disaster ?? genre, you won't get bored by this movie. However, some characters are kind of flat, especially the bland performance of Jim Sturgess. Gerard Butler and Abbie Cornish do a good job but what do the guys in Jake's team exactly do? What's the point of the Indian boy and his pet dog scene? Some good visual effects but not enough because there are not enough believable disaster scenes.
Besides, there are too many subplots. Devlin should do better in his next film.
