Review of George of the Jungle (1997) by Deb S — 14 Jun 2010
This is a good-natured, family-oriented comedy about a clumsy ape man George who after surviving a plane crash lives in the jungle amongst the animals and never seems able to stop crashing into trees when swinging from his vine.
During a safari, he encounters a young American heiress named Ursula Stanhope (Leslie Mann) and immediately falls in love with her. Despite their differences in lifestyles, he leaves his beloved jungle and travels to the big city where he tries to win her affections and adapt to civilization much to the annoyance of her fiancé (Lyle Vandergroot and Ursula's snotty mom).
