Review of George Carlin: It's Bad for Ya! (2008) by David H — 14 Mar 2009
Typical George with lots of laughs and profanity but I think takes himself way too seriously, seriously! Although funny, some of his stuff simply makes no logical sense.
I was sorry to hear of his death in June 2008 from a long struggle with heart problems. He did have a knack about speaking up against the stupidity of people and their belief systems.
In this installment he comes across as another confused Catholic, contantly torn between the good people who attempted to teach him the "true" religion while hating the church's hypocracy. Catholics who say they are not "tied" to the church's belief system are the worst cases of people who *are* really tied to it to the point of it ruining their lives and stiffling their productivity. I am sorry to see that he could never get beyond that and his wanting to make his mom proud of him despite her strict Catholic beliefs.
We will miss him but this installment simply did not do it for me.
