Review of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) by Ana C — 05 Jan 2008
The Diamonds are a girl's best friend dance number is so beautifully choreographed with the women as a candelabra and reminds me of physical theatre. The costumes are equally gorgeous, but this film shows how people can be feminine at the same time as strong willed and intelligent.
Although it's one of Monroe's typical ditsy roles, Lorelie is very independent and focused when it comes to her goal of marrying a millionaire.
