Review of Gentlemen Broncos (2009) by Nicole O — 06 Mar 2010
Terrible. Like most people, I liked Napoleon Dynamite, and thought Nacho Libre was a letdown, but this one was all over the place. I read the bad reviews, and still really wanted to give it a shot, but it isn't worth your time.
The positives...or positive...Jermaine Clement as Chevalier. He is the only funny part of the movie, and he is borderline great, but he is not the main character, and couldn't redeem the movie as a whole. The 1 star is because of him.
The negatives...everything else. Painfully unfunny at times, cringe worthy at many others. It was less than 90 minutes and felt longer. None of the other characters are likable. Sometimes that can work in a dark comedy, this is not that kind of movie.
Recommendation: So bad...its bad.
