Review of Gentlemen Broncos (2009) by Aaron B — 24 May 2010
Bill Murray is a play writer in the movie Tootsie. He has a scene at a party where he is talking with some party goers and he tells them, " I don't want someone to come up to me and say "good job man" I want someone to come up to me and say " Hey man I saw your show the other day, What happened?".
That is exactly the thought I had watching this movie. Here is a movie that loves its quirkiness. To tell you the truth so did I. Every time I was thinking, okay that was strange and funny, and as soon as I was used to what I was seeing, something else comes along.
Rarely does a comedy try so hard to make you laugh, and yet make it seem so effortless. I will not lie, this movie is not going to be everybodys thing. It is made by the same people who did the Napolean Dynamite movie, so it has that same slow pace. However, just to see one of the more imaginitive movies of last year, it is worth a rental.
