Review of Gentlemen Broncos (2009) by Jonathan G — 02 Jan 2011
This movie is so bad... it's almost good. From Jared Hess, the director of Napoleon Dynamite. My former film business partner, Richard Wright was the production designer on it, so I HAD to check it out.
95% of you will probably hate this movie. It's incredibly quirky, a little disgusting, and the sci-fi scenes are so hokey that you won't be able to look away. Noteworthy performances from Michael Angarano, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords).
I'm not saying that this is a good movie, I'm saying that this movie is so beyond anything I've ever scene that I can't even interpret how I feel about it. Rocket-firing deer statuary, cyclops warriors in golf carts, and the nightgown industry? I honestly wouldn't mind watching it again.
C+.
