Review of Gender Wars (2015) by Alice H — 20 Dec 2017
This is an entertaining watch; however, it just scratches the surface of its intended message: gender inequality and sexual identity. While there are some good moments, the message is diluted with its side stories (e.
G. Bobby Riggs' relationships with his family) and exaggerated characters (e.g. fashion designer Ted Tinling). Additionally, I thought that its messaging was too blatant and failed to address the nuances of gender discrimination.
In the end, it is still a good lighthearted movie with good acting and a good takeaway. I think my expectations were just a little too high.
