Review of Gaslight (1944) by John C — 20 Aug 2011
The best Hitchcock film that Hitchcock never directed. Wonderfully old-fashioned in the sense that it actually prefers well-developed characters and true suspense rather than people or objects jumping out at you every five seconds.
The film also uses quietness and sound effects to build its suspense rather than wall-to-wall music score. A treasure!
