Review of Gasland (2010) by Mike C — 02 Sep 2011
Dick Cheney is a piece of shit. Halliburton is an evil fucking company. Is this news? Not really. But maybe flaming water is. And so this virtual unknown documents some local water problems associated with fracking, and takes his story nationwide on the way to an Oscar-nominated documentary. Not bad.
Everything is for sale in this country. I don't know what else to say or do about it. It's this and this and that and that. A few people get rich and a lot of people suffer whether its natural gas fracking, retail, banking, etc, etc fucking etc. Two years ago, I didn't even know anything about this. I was too worried about health insurance and banks and credit card companies and the most corrupt government in human history. But it only gets bigger. In this case, the government has done nothing to stop, and has actual created all kinds of loopholes, the problems associated with putting lots of water and lots of chemicals into the ground to release natural gas.
So I'm not going to waste much more energy on this review. Production wise, I think it's a little lacking: it's not overly entertaining and the narrator's voice is a little monotonous and uneven. But the story tells itself. It's a fucking joke. Kudos to Fox for taking the issue to another level. Oh, and Cheney can die any day now.
