Review of Garden State (2004) by Steve S — 26 May 2010
In hindsight, this film is shockingly anvilicious and not as insightful as it might desire to be, but the visual imagery was always rather striking, Braff is very comfortable as an on-screen presence and doesn't "play up" the potential monotone nature of his character.
And the Braff/Portman romance is sweet. The writing might just not fit for me.
