Review of Garden State (2004) by Andy W — 02 Feb 2011
B+, Zach Braff has proved that he can take off the "Scrubs" and do other great pieces with his talents. Garden State recycles the typical self discovery in your 20somethings story but he ads a new charm to it.
Braff, Portman, and Sarsgaard give great performances and work well together as an ensemble. The indie soundtrack hits a little on the nose and gets annoying but this is a charming and uplifting story.
Zach Braff certainly has a bright future in film.
