Review of Garden State (2004) by Justin S — 08 Aug 2010
After watching so much Scrubs, it's really surprising that something like this would come from the mind of Zach Braff, when we're used to seeing inside his head the zany fantasies that are given to his character of JD.
But this isn't JD, and at first, it feels like another one of those indie films where everyone mumbles and Braff is straight-faced and dull, but as the story progresses we see the emotional complexities and the depth to each character, and how their relationships expose the baggage that haunts them from beginning to end.
