Review of Garden State (2004) by Moss R — 07 Oct 2010
Flat out fantastic! The script is amazing. Perfectly written and directed by Zach Braff, this movie is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. The characters are very likeable. Braff and Natalie Portman are hilarious.
By the way I've had a HUGE crush on Portman ever since she starred in Star Wars Episode 1.(By the way I'm a fan of the original trilogy. Not so much the new prequels) But this is by far her best role.
Peter Sarsgaard and Ian Holm are great as the supporting cast. There are two very short but funny roles by Jim Parsons(Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory) and Geoffrey Arend(Super Troopes, Devil). The soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard.
It features some great acoustic songs. This is a movie that will stick with you.
