Review of Garden State (2004) by Alex P — 21 Apr 2012
Garden State is just a true example of why dramedies are my favorite genre of filmmaking. The entire cast does an excellent job of making their characters likable and relatable, the relationship between Zach Braff and Natalie Portman felt truly genuine and never forced, the comedy worked, the drama worked, and the film just perfectly represented the happiness and sadness of life and how sad it is to have to lose someone.
This really is filmmaking at its finest, and it's all thanks to writer, director, and star Zach Braff.
