Review of Garden State (2004) by Aleksander D — 29 Apr 2013
This film simply gives me a great feeling. To me, that is the most important thing when it comes to films. It has hints of depresion, critisism of prescription drugs, but is mostly about returning home and reconnecting with a past life, only to find that this past life isn't the same as it used to be, although it might seem like it at the first glance.
Zach Braff is amazing, as he proves through the writing, directing and acting in this film, in addition to the selection of a truly remarkable soundtrack. The rest of the cast, lead by Natalie Portman and Peter Sarsgaard, is also outstanding.
Watching this makes me want to take a walk in the rain and just think, feel and possibly scream.
