Review of Garage Days (2002) by Bruce B — 05 Mar 2008
Though I am an Alex Proyas fan, I must admit this was disappointing. Maybe he should stick to Sci.-Fi. Or at least movies with good scripts. Unfortunately for this "comedy," most of the jokes just aren't funny.
The characters, though eccentric, are still pretty lame. There are some interesting and rather artist slow-motion / graphic-rotation shots for then scenes when certain characters have omnipotent narrative insights; though they are completely unnecessary.
The dialog is generally cheesy and the film portrayal of what is the "rock and roll lifestlye" falls flat on it's geeky face. And anyone who makes a comparison between this and Trainspotting should be shot.
That's as blasphemous as comparing Fallout Boy to The Rolling Stones.
