With a fascinating true story, a fine script full of good dialogue, an amazing cast headed by Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn as Mickey Cohen, Emma Stone, Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi, Robert Patrick and Mireille Enos, perfect directing by Ruben Fleischer, exciting scenes and sequences and a brilliant pace and flow, Gangster Squad is a violent but well done account of the squad that took Mickey Cohen down.
