I dunno, I'm kinda surprised at all of the negative reviews of this film. No, it's nothing great, but also not that bad. A stylized, and almost cartoonish account of the LA crime boss Mickey Cohen.
Sean Penn did a nice job as Mickey Cohen, and Josh Brolin was okay as the police sergeant on his case. I'm not a big fan of Ryan Gosling or the others, but otherwise it was a good, watchable, basic crime drama.
To give you an idea about the ending, the day after I watched the movie I couldn't remember how it ended. So it's good as a stylized pulp fiction novel, but not something that will stick with you.
