Soooo, if you're like me and your only impression of the Civil War era comes from Gone With the Wind and Little Women, you will be horrified by the amount of grit and gore in this movie. It's not pleasant to watch, but it's really worth it at the end.
Aaaand not to sound like a broken record, but Daniel Day-Lewis is the bee's knees.
