Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Jarrett M — 31 Mar 2012
So, if you've seen my review of The Departed, you'll already know that Gangs of New York has a steep hill to climb for me, but it also acheives a similar result. I don't know most of Scorsese's films fall flat for me, but they often do.
Again, a well made and well performed film, that lost me somewhere along the line and couldn't get me back. A good performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, but not his best work in my opinion. Again, not one that I would recommend, but I admit that it is a quality made movie.
Just not one that could hold my attention.
