Forget that it's flawed, this is the most fun you will ever have at the movies guaranteed. I still don't understand how this got 10 Academy nominations yet didn't win a single one. If I were a member of the Academy I would have voted for it.

The writing is really good. I dare even say this would be like Shakespeare for years to come. I really liked the dialogue, it was very artistic. The reason why this film is flawed is because there's no structure.

It's all over the place. It's a Martin Scorsese film so I was expecting a slow paced plot but it was seriously way to fast. The film is nearly three hours but it went by like it was one hour. But I'm not so concerned because the film made up in all other areas.

That area being the acting. Once again a marvelous performance by Daniel Day-Lewis. Every time he was on screen his character shined. He gave a believable performance. That Butcher character sure is a guy I would like to have a beer with.

Okay, not really but maybe Leo's character. I also never understood the importance of Cameron Diaz character but she did add to the character development of Amsterdam. The fight scenes where entertaining and really violent.

But violence doesn't bother me at all in films even if it's really graphic violence. For those that have weak stomachs this would not be for you. For those that could watch anything and love a good film then this is for you.
